NEW DELHI: India will be displaying some of its key military assets, such as T-90 tanks and BrahMos missile system, during the 72nd Republic Day celebrations on Rajpath, with a marching-cum-band contingent of the Bangladesh armed forces all set to take part in the ceremonial parade for the first time.

How the Desert Knight exercise will boost India’s air power

New Delhi, Jan 20: India has deployed its Rafale fighters against the French Rafales for a joint exercise called Desert Knight at Jodhpur.
In the ongoing operation, Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat will undertake a sortie in the French Rafale fighters.
Officials said that the aim of the exercise in which both countries have deployed the fighters and transport planes and mid-air fuelling is to provide operational exposure. The high-voltage exercise which will take place between January 20 and 24 is also aimed at enhancing combat capabilities.
Rafale jet will be the showstopper for the Republic Day parade in Delhi on January 26.

The defence ministry, on Wednesday, gave a glimpse of the excitement the recently inducted Rafale fighter jet will add to this year s Republic Day parade despite being curtailed in view of the coronavirus pandemic.
Sharing a video of the flypast practice, Defence ministry principal spokesperson A Bharat Bhushan Babu wrote: Shiny metal in the distant sky taking shape of Rafale as it flies to you! Watch this video to get a worm s eye of Republic Day flypast this 26 January.
The newly inducted aircraft is set to be the showstopper on January 26.
A total of 38 Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft and four helicopters of the Indian Army will participate in the flypast at the Republic Day parade on January 26 this year.
