A hometown hero who served our country honored at Woodland Cemetery

For the past few years members of the Verrazano Kiwanis Club and “Wreath’s Across America,” whose mission is to “Remember, Honor and Teach” by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and at more than 2,100 additional locations in 50 U.S. states and abroad have partnered to raise funds for veterans and their families.
For the 2020 holiday season the Verrazano Kiwanis Club and The Carl V. Bini Foundation partnered to purchase and install a 30-foot flag pole in the name of U.S. Army Sgt. Christopher Slow.

A Toy Drive is set for Friday, Dec. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at A List of Janitorial Supplies located at 205 Industrial Loop in Charleston, where there will be curbside drop off.

As a way to help restaurant staffers out of work, community leaders are joining forces to put smiles on the faces of their children this holiday season.
Congresswoman-elect Nicole Malliotakis, members of the Verrazano Kiwanis Club of Staten Island, and Victoria Montuori, Miss Richmond County Outstanding Teen, will play host to a Toy Drive Friday, Dec. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at A List Janitorial Supplies, a warehouse located at 205 Industrial Loop in Charleston, where there will be curbside drop off.
