Dimapur, Oct. 9 (EMN): Under the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP), a seminar on mental health issues and psychosocial management for class 10 and 12 students of Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) in Kohima was conducted on October 8 with psychiatric social worker, Veronica Nriame, as the resource person. An update from DMHP stated that Nriame spoke at length about anxiety disorders, depression disorders, eating disorders, suicide prevention, substance abuse and other addictive disorders and how to prevent them. The session was attended by 241 students. Later, a seminar for the teachers on ‘Understanding children’s mental health and stress management’ was conducted, wherein Nriame spoke on common mental health issues which are commonly experienced by the children and adolescents. She has sensitised the teachers on significant symptoms and warning signs and discussed in detail on stress management and measures to promote teachers mental health and well-being. The
