Troopers said they conducted a property check at a Verona storage unit location at about 1:30 a.m. Feb. 21, due to a recent uptick in crime. Troopers said they found Geoffrey J. Kaulback, 33, of Oneida, at the site in possession of tools, with numerous locks broken on multiple units. Troopers said Kaulback was linked to previous break-ins at the same location, and he was taken into custody on March 8.
Mohawk Valley Crime Stoppers and the Oneida County Sheriff's Department are asking for people to share information on the whereabouts of this week's Wanted Person of the Week.

Jack McEvoy, currently serving the Township of Verona as Mayor, has announced his bid to seek re-election for a second term to the Verona Town Council.
Prior to serving on the Verona Town Council and as Mayor, Jack, a lifelong Verona resident, served as a Board member at the Hillwood Terrace Community, providing oversight for building management and maintenance and budgetary needs. Jack also regularly attended land use board meetings, council meetings, various community fund-raising events and environmental cleanups throughout the Township.
Jack sought a seat on the Council to address many issues in 2017 and has upheld his promises.
