Jack McEvoy, currently serving the Township of Verona as Mayor, has announced his bid to seek re-election for a second term to the Verona Town Council.
Prior to serving on the Verona Town Council and as Mayor, Jack, a lifelong Verona resident, served as a Board member at the Hillwood Terrace Community, providing oversight for building management and maintenance and budgetary needs. Jack also regularly attended land use board meetings, council meetings, various community fund-raising events and environmental cleanups throughout the Township.
Jack sought a seat on the Council to address many issues in 2017 and has upheld his promises. An avid runner, he continually supports new stop sign installations, crosswalks and traffic pattern changes to provide for safer, more pedestrian-friendly streets. Recently, the Township contracted with a new engineering firm which, in addition to all of Verona’s conventional engineering needs, also provides the expertise of a traffic engineer. Jack believes that certain areas, where an increase in traffic incidents or complaints exist, should be studied and modifications should be made when possible.
