A lot have rain has fallen. Even though the rain has moved out, there is still concern for flooding. At the freeport parkway area, there are still rescues in those areas. Parts of cities in several flooded roadways and give yourself extra time. There is a Flood Warning for north. More storms tonight with heavy rain expected in southern iowa. A Flash Flood Watch in effect until tomorrow morning. This is also where we will see a slight risk of strong storms this afternoon and this evening in southern iowa. This is elkader where the turkey river is at levels not seen since 2008. Terry joining us now with more. We wanted to give the viewers an update with the turkey river. The latest stage is up to 17 feet, it continues to rise, but is feet. By tomorrow morning the crest should occur around seven am at 27 felt. That will result in major flooding around the elkader area. The good news in all of this, theres no additional rain in the forecast tonight or day. Tomorrow night well see the next chance for showers or storms. We should avoid the rain tomorrow, the High Pressure yesterdays flash flooding is river flooding. It has forced evacuations. Flooding is causing evacuations, Fayette County Emergency Management says within the hour the turkey river will crest 3 feet above the levels of 2008. Meteorologist terry swails joins us now with a flooding threat that could stretch four days. Looks like a boundary will get established on Northern Iowa. It may be for several days to come. Will be raining all the time but when it does rain it could come down heavy. There are places in eastern iowa that have had 47 and 40 inches of rain. The ground is Northern Counties. So Flash Flood Watch is in effect and that is out until 7 00 on thursday. For the moment the raiders are quiet but thunderstorms have developed northwest of mason city. Those will developed and move east southeast and cut across Northern Iowa. 11 00 the storm is just starting to work its way to northeast iowa and by two or three clock in the morning you can see those raising the farther Northern Counties.
