New Delhi, Jan 24 : In a major bureaucratic reshuffle at the Centre, 13 Secretaries have been transferred and posted to different Ministries and departments while several senior civil servants have been promoted.
Deepak Khandekar gets the charge as Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
Khandekar, a 1985-batch Madhya Pradesh cadre officer, is currently working as Secretary in Ministry of Tribal Affairs. He will replace his batchmate C Chandramouli of Tamil Nadu cadre.
Odisha cadre IAS officers get key portfolios at Centre Post News Network
Bhubaneswar: Following a top-level bureaucratic reshuffle, the Central Government has allocated important portfolios to two Odisha cadre IAS officers.
An official notification released by the central government reads that 1985-batch Odisha cadre IAS officer Upendra Prasad Singh, Secretary of Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, will now be Secretary of Ministry of Textiles.
Further, 1986-batch Odisha cadre IAS officer GV Venugopala Sarma, Member Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority has been named Chairman, National Authority, Chemical Weapons Convention, reads the notification.

The government on Saturday reshuffled top level bureaucracy with appointment of new Secretaries in ministries such as Power, Textiles, Mines, Fertilizer, Personal & Trainings and Tourism beside others. It also upgraded some of the post.
As approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister, 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Uttar Pradesh, Alok Kumar will be new Power Secretary. He will replace Sanjeev Nandan Sahai, who is retiring on January 31. Kumar is presently in the cadre.
