New Delhi: In what could be the start of a new row between Twitter and the Indian government, the social media giant Saturday removed the “blue badge” from Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu s personal Twitter handle. The blue tick was removed from @MVenkaiahNaidu for inactivity , said a report by news agency ANI. The personal account of Venkaiah Naidu was inactive for six months and the blue badge has gone, ANI quoted an official from the Vice President s office as saying.

Twitter has removed blue tick from VP Venkaiah Naidu s personal handle
Twitter on Saturday removed the blue tick from Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu s personal handle, @MVenkaiahNaidu. His personal account has more than 13 lakh followers.
However, the official Twitter handle of the Vice President of India, @VPSecretariat, continues to have the blue badge.
This account has 9.3 lakh followers. The blue verified tick on Twitter lets users know that the Twitter handle is authentic.

New Delhi: Microblogging social media site Twitter restored the blue verified tick badge from the personal handle of India s Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu after nationwide outrage.
The blue tick badge from Naidu s personal Twitter account was earlier
removed by the social media micro blogging site for what is said inactivity .
The Vice President posted his last tweet from his personal handle on July 23 last year about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and worshipper of Goddess Bhawani.
