In this episode of For One Night Only (FONO), Pete Holmes talks with one of the hosts of JOY's 70s music show, Living in the 70s, Venetia Brissenden - Pronouns she/her. Venetia was born in Canberra, and initially came out as lesbian at the age of 19 because bi-sexuality wasn’t really an option back then but has now claimed that as part of her identity. She’s done public radio in Canberra, played in a band, and moved down to Melbourne to become a rock star which hasn’t happened yet! Had a background of depression so did a degree in Social work so she could help others and has worked in the drug and alcohol field for many years including 5 years at Thorne Harbour Health. She married her wife in the early 2000s in the Netherlands and had some difficulty getting divorced prior to the introduction of marriage equality in Australia.
