university of cambridge i identified one cause for cipa an abnormal gene inhirted from both parents to show a change in the cs-9 gene. there is a channel that causes this sodium to misfire, but it is not the entire findings. so despite that, there is no cure. so we are teaching the children along with the parents to coach the children to recognize the feeling as a dangerous feeling. the nice analogy is a person who is color blind. they can see, but they didn t know red from green. so for instance, they don t drive through stoplights, because they have learned that red is on the top, and you know, yellow is in the middle and green is on the bottom, and so these people, if we can keep working with them, they can eventually understand to avoid things that are very likely to injure us. reporter: still dr. klein is hopeful that the research is
