The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has busted an international cybercrime syndicate in a collaborative operation involving the FBI and Interpol, said officials on Sunday.
According to a TOI report, t​he joint operation led to the arrest of four suspects in Delhi, with an additional two members apprehended in the US and Canada. The arrests shed light on the syndicate s extensive criminal activities, estimated to have amassed approximately $20 million from their victims.
Four men were arrested in India for defrauding US citizens of more than $20m through fake call centres, with Vatsal Mehta identified as head of the crime syndicate. The scheme involved pretending to be employees of the US Internal Revenue Service and other US agencies.
