The Union Cabinet on Thursday gave its consent to constitute a National Anti-profiteering Authority under the GST, as it wants to ensure that the benefit of reduced prices must be passed to the consumer under the new indirect tax regime.

New Delhi: Even as two recent orders by different central information commissioners demonstrated their growing exasperation with multiple Right to Information (RTI) applications being filed on the same topic, activists have cautioned that this belief should not result in denial of information to genuine applicants.
As of October 2017, there were more than 37,000 cases pending before the Central Information Commission (CIC). While this is primarily due to the Centre’s failure to fill vacancies in the Commission on time and the slow disposal rate of cases, two information commissioners recently made strong obser
