MORE than three months after pubs stopped serving customers, pints have been pulled at bars across Herefordshire as punters filled beer gardens. Pubs reported having a good day on Monday as the Covid-19 lockdown was eased in England, allowing food and drink to be served to customers outside. But for one Herefordshire pub, it s the first time the doors have been open to the public for more than five years. Paul English, 61, and his family have taken over the King s Head in Docklow, near Leominster, after making the move to Herefordshire from Kent.

The Hudson Valley is filled with award-winning breweries, distilleries, and wineries. Now, another winery in the region has won another major award. Baldwin Vineyards in Pine Bush was just named New York s Fruit Winery of the Year.
According to their Facebook, Baldwin Vineyards took home not one, but three major awards for their wine. They won a bronze medal for their apple wine, a gold medal for their strawberry wine, and were named the New York Fruit Winery of the year.
The Facebook post said, In the mood for something sweet? We are NY’s Fruit Winery of the Year
Another brewery in the Hudson Valley is getting high praise.
A list of the best new breweries in the U.S. was recently compiled by USA Today. The winners were just announced for 2021 and 10 breweries made the cut. While a couple of breweries on the list are in New York State, only one is in the Hudson Valley.
According to USA Today, Drowned Lands Brewery in Warwick is the 10th best new brewery in the U.S. Warwick is part of Orange County in the Hudson Valley. To make the list, the brewery had to be founded within the last three years. From there, USA Today readers voted on their favorites. Drowned Lands website says they were founded as an homage to the dirt on which it is built. Warwick is known for its unique black dirt.
