with these things, and it s not over. it s still going to get worse before it gets better. yeah. so you guys be safe there. we appreciate you joining us, mayor val zudans of vero beach, florida. thank you so much. it s my pleasure, don. absolutely. i want to bring in now mayor mike bernard of palm beach county. mac, excuse me. excuse me, mayor. thank you so much. what are the conditions like where you are right now? well, right now, you know, this dangerous storm is 100 miles east of west palm beach, and as i already reported, it s 130 miles per hour with wind dwufts running 65 miles per hour. we want to thank our residents for making their final storm preparation. our biggest concern right now is the storm surge because due to the intercoastal waters and also the atlantic ocean, we re expecting to get like anywhere from four to seven feet of storm surge, and also we are subject to high tide and around 12:00
most of the power has already been restored. they restored over 60,000 customers. we re estimated to only have about 100 customers who don t have power right now. just shows how doing good preparation can make a huge difference. even though we had some really strong winds and gusts and power outages last night, it s already starting. it s not done. we may still get some of our strongest winds over the next 24 hours. but the threat of something like what happened in the bahamas is not there. dana: thank goodness for that, for your community. thank you for coming on the show and telling us. hopefully, there will be no other changes for you, although other people are going to be concerned. val zudans, thank you very much. we are keeping a close eye on hurricane dorian. plus, brand new details are emerging about that deadly fire on a dive boat off the southern california coast, as police released the chilling may day
mayor of vero beach val zudans, we wish you the very best. we hope the storm changes its mind. wouldn t it be nice. we need to pray for the people of the bahamas too. they re going through crazy stuff. we wish everybody all right. we wish the same. there are already reports of significant damage. we wish everybody the best. thank you so much. the national hurricane center is keeping a close watch on this massive storm now, a category 5. it s made landfall. let s check in with ken graham. can you tell us what it s doing to the bahamas right now? how sig canal are the reports you re receiving thus far? yeah, what a dangerous life-threatening situation. 185-mile-an-hour winds in that eye wall and just devastating when it comes to the indiana with. it s not just wind. it s rain.
