Restaurant-goers enjoyed comfortable fall temperatures in the 60s Tuesday evening as the sun set on downtown Arlington Heights outdoor dining zone for the 2021 season.
Street construction will return to downtown Arlington Heights next week, when work begins to resurface a one-block portion of Evergreen Avenue and make other pedestrian-friendly upgrades.

The Arlington Heights Farmers Market opened for the season Saturday in the commuter parking lot across from the Arlington Heights Historical Museum on Vail Avenue and Fremont Street. It will be open 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays until Oct. 16.

Taking city bus on a rainy evening
A man wanted for vehicle theft was arrested today after allegedly crashing another stolen vehicle into the back of a Montebello bus, injuring three passengers.
The crash was reported at about 8 a.m. at Whittier Boulevard and Vail Avenue, according to Montebello city spokesman Michael Chee. The stolen vehicle rear-ended the Montebello Bus Lines bus and the vehicle s driver attempted to flee on foot, Chee said. He was quickly spotted by a Montebello police officer and taken into custody.
Three bus passengers were taken to Beverly Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, he said.
