Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, Empire Outlets walk-up vaccination hours for 75+ to change weekly

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Walk-up coronavirus (COVID-19) accommodations at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex and Empire Outlets vaccination sites will change weekly, the Advance/SILive.com has learned.
On Tuesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the expansion of a pilot program from two sites in Queens and Brooklyn to 25 sites citywide where seniors 75 and older, as well as an eligible companion, could get vaccinated without scheduling an appointment.
Empire Outlets, located at 55 Richmond Terr., and the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, located at 625 Father Capodanno Blvd., are the two borough locations that are part of the citywide expansion.
The nationwide vaccine rollout has been haphazard, to say the least. The past few months have been characterized by malfunctioning registration processes, long lines at distribution sites, confusion over which groups are being prioritized, and stark inequity in who is receiving the vaccines versus who has been hit hardest by COVID-19. And many places simply don’t have enough vaccines.
To pick up the slack, cities and transit agencies across the country have stepped up to provide free or cheap transportation to vaccine distribution sites. These programs are crucial for the elderly, the disabled, non-drivers, and those who live far from public transportation networks or vaccination sites.

In a series of photos uploaded on its official Facebook account, the city government showcased the center’s facilities and data encoding technologies. The Vaccine Command Center houses the personnel involved in the day-to-day operations of the Vaccination Team. Currently, the site is being occupied by members of the Operations Center, profilers, encoders, and nurses.
One part of the center was dedicated to the Pasig Health Monitor, which is the city’s health information management and monitoring system that will be used in the pre-vaccination phase of the Vaccination Plan, specifically in terms of databasing citizen’s health information relevant to COVID-19 vaccination.
The Pasig City government formally launched on Monday its COVID-19 Vaccination Command Center to ensure the smooth and efficient rollout of its COVID-19 vaccination plan.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance is likely a lame duck and declined to prosecute Donald Trump’s children in 2012, but he may be the one person who can now hold the former president accountable for his actions. While an impeachment conviction seems unlikely in Washington, Vance’s office has been slowly gathering evidence in a criminal probe of Trump’s personal and corporate tax returns. Vance’s prosecutors let slip in court papers they were examining possible tax, bank, and insurance fraud charges – which are not subject to a presidential pardon.
