File photo May 10, 2021 THE Bacolod City Government is expecting an additional 3,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines from the National Government.
Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical data and analysis of Emergency Operations Center (EOC), said the additional vaccines are expected to be delivered this week and these will be used for the priority groups in the city like the healthcare workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities.
Aside from Sinovac vaccines, he said they are also expecting to get more supply of AstraZeneca vaccines since more than two million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines already arrived in the country.
The Bacolod Covid-19 Vaccination Council (CoVac) already administered a total of 12,473 doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines in the city.

On Friday, the Covid-19 Vaccination Council (CoVac), chaired by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, temporarily suspended the mass vaccination in SM City to reassess its protocols and procedures, including crowd control, to implement a more orderly and safer flow of vaccination.

+ May 06, 2021 THE City Government of Bacolod is temporarily suspending the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) mass vaccination program for healthcare workers and senior citizens at the Cinema lobby, South Wing of SM City, Bacolod on Friday, May 7, 2021.
The Covid-19 Vaccination Council (CoVac) in an advisory said it needed to reassess its protocols and procedures, including crowd control, to implement a more orderly and safer flow of vaccination.
The vaccination, which started on May 3 with a daily schedule from 10 a.m. to 5 p. m., aimed to accommodate remaining healthcare workers, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities who have yet to receive Covid-19 vaccine jabs.
