This project is the country s largest single-location project. Being developed at village Banderwala, in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the 1000 MW Solar Project is expected to generate 2,454.84 million units of energy in the first year and a cumulative energy of about 56,474 million units over a period of 25 years. The project is being developed at a cost of Rs 5,491 Crores and is expected to be commissioned by September 30, 2024.

The power department officers tendered an apology to the commission for generating a wrong electricity bill of Rs 2.24 lakh and said they had reduced the bill to Rs 3,998. The four officers involved in the incident were Superintending Engineer Anil Verma, Executive Engineer RK Gautam, and sub divisional officers Sarvesh Yadav and Ravi Anand of the UPPCL.
