Some South Salt Lake residents want to put their mayor s and City Council s pay raises on this year s ballot after the council overturned a city law in order to pass its own raise.
A bill to cut Utah’s income tax rate from 4.95% to 4.85% is headed to the full Senate. But the debate over how lawmakers should spend $160 million already set aside for tax relief in 2022 continues, with talks about increasing that amount to $200 million.
