ISLAMABAD: Ustad Karim Khalili, Leader of Hezb-e-Wahadat-e Islami (HWI), Afghanistan, has said that peace in Afghanistan will create a situation that will benefit all countries, especially the region and neighbours.
Ustad Khalili expressed these views while addressing at a ‘Public Talk’ organised by Institute of Strategic Studies (ISS) under its distinguished lecture series.
Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Director-General, ISS, moderated the proceedings. Khalili said that peace is a multidimensional phenomenon with multifaceted effects in different dimensions of human social life and societies. He observed that, when we talk about peace, in addition to the political dimension, we must also consider its cultural, economic and social dimensions. ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Afghanistan s Hizb-e-Wahdat-e Islami called on Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday to discuss matters of mutual interest including the Afghan peace process.
The delegation, led by Muhammad Karim Khalili, arrived in the country on Monday for a two-day visit during which it is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi discussed the Afghan peace process with a delegation of Afghanistan s Hizb-e-Wahdat-e Islami at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
Led by Muhammad Karim Khalili, the delegation arrived in Islamabad on Monday for a two-day visit during which it is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.
During the meet today, Qureshi reiterated Islamabad s stance that there was no military solution to the Afghan conflict, adding only political dialogue could resolve the matter.
The foreign minister stressed that the regional peace was linked to the stability in Afghanistan and expressed satisfaction over the progress in intra-Afghan dialogue, saying it provides a unique opportunity to the Afghan leadership which must be seized for peace in the country.

Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday said that peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan , according to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations.
Gen Bajwa s remarks came during a meeting with Chairman Hizb-e-Wahadat Islami Afghanistan and former Chairman Afghan High Peace Council, Mohammad Karim Khalili, who called on the army chief at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi today, said the military s media wing.
