It is a privilege to be cohosting this with my friends over at csi s. We are going to be having a conversation with the ambassador of the islamic republic, mr. s s aizaz ahmad chaudhry. With 37 years of experience in the foreign service, he was the secretary of pakistan and he is a graduate of Tufts University and had a very interesting and distinguished career basically all the big jobs with the ambassador of the netherlands and we are very fortunate to have someone of his caliber representing pakistan at this time. We are at a challenging time for the relations between the United States and pakistan. We are aware of all that, but i think we need to talk about the challenges in our relationship and the thing is that needs to be addressed and then we also want a conversation that opens up on a number of things that dont get enough attention. Healthy aging. The Senate Special committee is chaired by Susan Collins of maine. The morning. Thgood morning. The committee wio order. For the next 12 years, 10,000 americans will turn 65 each day. Last month i officially joined that club. By the median age, maine is the oldest stage in the nation. They save 65 or older accounted for 19. 4 of the population of the state in 2016. That is an increase from 2010. No matter where in the country you live, when americans think of turning 65, we think of medicare and Social Security as well as we should. Theres also an opportunity to plan for a brandnew chapter as more start living longer. More than one out of four who lived tlive to age 65 can expeco live into their 90s. Americans to 85 or older are the fastestgrowing segment of the population. For many the long jeopardy means an additional three decades following what was once considered the time to retire. We need to plan to aid successfully and achieve the new chapter of continued growth

I think everyone is aware of all of that, but i think we think theres a so i think we need to talk about the challenges in our relationship and the things that need to be addressed. And then i think we want to also have a conversation that opens up the conversation a bit. Because there are some things that dont have enough attention at all.
