Local restaurants to receive funds from Restaurants Care Resilience Fund

In response to the hardships that restaurants are facing, the California Restaurant Association and PG&E announced that 109 restaurants will receive grants.

For Urbann Turbann owner Shefali Trivedi, business has dropped by about 90%.
“Restaurants like mine have been struggling since Jan 2020 when COVID 19 just started and we saw a huge drop in international students who did not return after the Christmas break of 2019,” Trivedi said in an email. “Since then it has gotten only worse since our primary customers are the students and staff of UC Berkeley.”

FREMONT, CA Two Fremont restaurants were chosen by the California Restaurant Foundation to receive grants of up to $3,500 to help recover from pandemic closures. They are among 318 mom-and-pop restaurants in eight counties chosen for the grants, with 33 of those restaurants here in Alameda County. The full list is below. No grants were made in Contra Costa County.
The Fremont restaurants are Little by Little, and Qochon.
Wells Fargo donated $250,000 for the grants.
