The Urban Extension Road Project (UER-II) in Delhi, consisting of packages 1 to 3, is set to be completed by mid-September, ahead of its original October 2023 deadline, senior officials from the Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways have said. This is ahead of the earlier deadline of October this year. The Rs 7,716-crore, six-lane road project is seen as the third Ring Road that will decongest the current Ring Road and Delhi-Gurugram Expressway.
The new expressway of Delhi-NCR will act as additional ring road and provide alternative route towards Gurugram and onwards to Punjab, Haryana from South Delhi and West Delhi.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, on Thursday said the Urban Extension Road Project (UER-II), which is being implemented at a cost of Rs 7,716 crore, will be completed and inaugurated this year.
