CM Himanta Biswa Sarma
GUWAHATI/SILCHAR/AIZAWL: Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said Assam will protect its constitutional boundary with Mizoram with all its might.
Sarma said this after Mizo miscreants allegedly triggered 2-3 blasts near the Assam-Mizoram border in wee hours on Sunday. He said the Assam Police won t be cowed down by such tactics. The Assam-Mizoram border situation has remained tense for the last six months. The situation has not improved as we had expected. But in last one month, we have ensured that no one from Mizoram side can intrude into Assam, Sarma told the media in Guwahati on Sunday. He said an additional DGP-rank officer and several senior Assam Police officers are currently camping along the inter-state border. At present, not even a single inch of Assam land can be encroached upon by others. We have constructed border outposts and roads along the border to protect the constitutional boundary, the CM said.
