WAREHAM The Wareham Fire Dept. announced the line of duty death of retired Wareham Firefighter David Wahlstrom from occupational cancer with deep regret today.
It’s noted on the WFD Facebook page, “David battled courageously against occupational cancer over the last few years. Please keep David, his family and our department in your prayers.”
Friends flocked to participate in a birthday procession to honor Wahlstrom and show their affection last April when he turned 57.
Police cruisers, fire trucks, pickup trucks and cars lined up in a long procession pouring onto Charlotte Furnace Road to drive by his home to wish him a happy birthday during a driving rainstorm.
Fifty-six percent of Americans say they would live in a tiny home.
That statistic was sent to us by a marketing company of Chicago. The company was pitching a story about IPX 1031, whatever that is, which purportedly conducted a survey of 2,000 people from which it drew that conclusion.
That statistic seems improbable, but it got us thinking about the tiny house movement that has been simmering for a decade or two and coincided with a story in our papers about students at Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School who are building a tiny house on the schoolâs Bourne campus.
