i ve had this conversation repeatedly with my friends recently. 11 separate women accusing andrew cuomo of sexual misconduct. in the numerous accounts i have heard from women, they have laid out an atmosphere that was hostile, competitive, driven by intimidation, for years that seemed, quote/unquote normal. a lot of us have felt this is just the way things are, this is the way things are done. it s on us to deal and figure on the a way through it. sometimes you play into it, so you can get ahead, but it takes the strength of all the women that have come out before us to speak out in spite of big victimized to tell us no, it s wrong, we do deserve better. we do. we deserve to work somewhere where we feel safe and feel
there s two different media conversations going on, lib blals who want to faux liberals who want to focus on the congressional bill and what they view as restrictive state laws like the one in georgia and then you have conservative as we just heard accusing biden and democrats overall of playing the so-called race card. yes. and i happen to think the conservatives are correct on this, probably comes as no surprise. here s what i think is an accurate framing of the story is. 2020 saw the greatest changes in voting and the way we vote in really i don t know, decades, right. we made exceptions and we changed the rules because of a worldwide pandemic. we allowed massive mail-in balloting, absentee ballot, push balloting, mail-in drop boxes, we made it as easy as possible for someone to stay home and vote. republicans are saying the pandemic is over, we need to go back to quote, unquote normal, we need protections in place that ensure voter integrity such
out in 2000 to us, to my wife and me, we just affirmed him and said we love you, son, and we believe that you were made in the image of god, just like everybody es. especially given the fact that he had considered suicide at one point after he prayed to god to make him quote/unquote normal, to take, you know, this away from him and it didn t happen. he considered suicide. he shared those stories with us and there were so much tears and we just affirmed them and said, look, this is not a choice, you didn t choose to be homosexual. so this is the way god made you. you re beautiful in the image of god. that s the way you are. so when he asked me to perform his wedding, there was no way i was going to say no to him. because that would have negated all those affirmations all these year. you could have avoided a trial had you agreed never to
celebrated, time to reflect and enjoy what s been an incredible few days here. incredible, indeed. ron, do you think that prodemocracy activists that have vowed to stay in tahrir square until they say evidence of reform, are they going to stay? do you get a sense that we re going to see pictures like the one we re seeing, whether you can on the left of the screen of people staying there and waiting and chanting and waving flags for some time to come? i think some people are going to stay as long as they can just to enjoy this moment. we did hear a report that there are police that are now in the square that are trying to dismantle some of the encampments that have been in place and take down some of the barricades that have been in place. it s not a confrontational situation. tahrir square is the heart of the city and as a practical matter, they want to get the traffic moving through there again. they want to get things back to quote/unquote normal and
