Daniel Michael Paton, a disability pensioner, pleaded guilty in Ipswich Magistrates Court to unlawful use of a motor vehicle at Sadliers Crossing on February 7; and driving while disqualified. No agreed facts of the case were read onto the public record by the police prosecution or the magistrate. Defence barrister Terry Strong gave an indication of the case in his submission on penalty. Mr Strong said although it was no excuse, Paton instructed that he was under the influence of ice at the time and, says he was feeling psychotic .

A 24-year-old man who went on an interstate road trip with a stolen car was found enjoying a meal parked near a Coast Mcdonald’s, a court has heard.
Neckore Gulmatico pleaded guilty in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday to three charges including bringing stolen goods into Queensland and two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Police prosecutor Brendan Newman said Gulmatico stole a grey Mazda 6 from Evans Head on March 28 before driving it to Coolum.
“ … (Gulmatico) has acquired spare keys to the vehicle and stolen the vehicle,” he said.
Sergeant Newman said police found the Mooloolaba resident in the car at 9:17pm on March 29.

Subscriber only AN Ipswich woman busted driving a stolen car also helped herself to premium fuel along the way, a court heard this week. The law caught up with Katelyn Aldred, who blamed a former boyfriend for stealing the car when she faced Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday. Katelyn Rose Aldred, 22, a disability pensioner from Sadliers Crossing, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to unlawful use of a stolen motor vehicle on February 15; and stealing premium petrol worth $72 at Caboolture Puma service station on February 15. Prosecutor Senior Constable Bridie O Shea said the car was reported stolen by a woman at 3.20pm on February 14.

A woman who took someone’s car without asking changed a flat tyre before driving off.
Melissa Jane Vickery, 36, pleaded guilty on March 4 in Rockhampton Magistrates Court to one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Kevin Ongheen said the car’s owner parked the Mazda 3 in the driveway of a Webster St, Gracemere, residence and left the keys in a pot plant “out of plain sight”.
He said the owner left in another vehicle.
Sgt Ongheen said Vickery walked into the front yard, retrieved the keys, unlocked the vehicle and changed a flat tyre before driving off.
