âTOO DRUNK to rememberâ was the excuse given by an Ipswich man after he stole a womanâs jacket that had been left on a parked motorbike outside The Star Gold Coast Casino.
Timothy Maurice Viney, 36, a Tasmanian-born landscaper living at Goodna, pleaded guilty in Ipswich Magistrates Court to stealing a jacket at the Broadbeach venue on January 11, 2020.
Police prosecutor Jack Scott said Viney was no stranger to the court system and this offence of stealing was not the most serious example.
Mr Scott said Viney was subject to two suspended jail terms at the time.

An Ipswich court heard Kalumbwa Rashidi delivered a series of blows to police dog Cozza in the pre-dawn mayhem, after hearing a noise outside and discovering the dog had a hold of his son s arm. Kalumbwa Rashidi, 45, from Redbank Plains, appeared before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to injuring a police dog at Redbank Plains on December 4, 2019. In evidence put by police prosecutor Jack Scott the incident occurred at 3.50am after police were called to the neighbourhood to investigate a report of an assault and attempted car stealing.
