KU’s Controller of Examinations Prof Irshad-A-Nawchoo said that the new timing for UG 6th semester, UG 1st year, UG 2nd year and UG 3rd year will now be 12.00 Noon instead of 11am (previous timing). KU Postpones LLM 2nd Semester Exam Scheduled Tomorrow SRINAGAR: The University of Kashmir on Thursday postponed the LLM 2nd semester examination which was scheduled to be held on January 8, 2021 (Friday) in view of heavy snowfall in Kashmir. “The examination of the postponed papers LM17216DCE and LM17217DCE shall now be held on 14 January 2021. The time and venue shall remain unchanged,” Head and Dean School of Law, Prof M Ayoub said.

KU releases social audit report of Mid-Day Meal Scheme

  Srinagar: The University of Kashmir on Monday released the findings of a social audit conducted into the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in select schools of Kashmir division. Dean Research Prof Shakil A Romshoo released the report of the social audit, carried out by the varsity’s Department of Social Work (DoSW) under a study sponsored by J&K’s School Education Department. In his presidential address, Prof Romshoo said the social auditing of welfare schemes like the MDM can lead to course correction and help achieve the objectives of such programmes in an optimal manner. Referring to Japan’s revolutionary school lunch programme, Prof Romshoo said the schemes like MDM, apart from leading to increase in enrollments and decrease in dropout rates, should become a source of great learning for children about the importance of food, food security, nutrition, balanced diet, cultivation and farming etc.

3-Week International Workshop On Interdisciplinary Research Begins At KU

SRINAGAR: A three-week international-level workshop on interdisciplinary research methodology started at the University of Kashmir on Monday. Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad inaugurated the online workshop, organised by the varsity’s Shah-i-Hamadan Institute of Islamic Studies (SHIIS). Stressing on the need for promoting interdisciplinary research in academic institutions, Prof Talat said the flagship National Education Policy-2020 lays great emphasis on interdisciplinary research and young researchers, therefore, need to gear up to meet its objectives. “The interdisciplinary research leads to a confluence of ideas and helps evolve strategies to address some of the pressing challenges in the society in a holistic manner,” he said.

KU inks pact to strengthen Industry-Academia linkage

  Srinagar: The University of Kashmir on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a New Delhi-based innovations firm to undertake joint student-centric engagement and placement programmes. The MoU between KU’s Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC) and Deepmindz Innovations Private Limited (DIPL) New Delhi will lead to industry-driven advanced skilling programmes for students and holding of master-class sessions to help them hone their skills with the larger objective of making them industry-ready. The two institutions, according to the MoU, have agreed to collaborate on STRIBES, a virtual platform bridging the industry-academia relations for the benefit of students.
