Labour Codes may get implemented before April 1: Report Twenty nine central labour laws have been consolidated into four codes on occupational safety, minimum wages, and social security. The Industrial Relations Code, 2020, the Code on Social Security, 2020, and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, were passed by Parliament in 2020, whereas the Code on Wages was passed during the monsoon session of Parliament in 2019.

Farmers protesting against farm laws have found support from trade unions (AFP, file photo) NEW DELHI: A joint platform of central trade unions on Friday reiterated its support to the farmers agitation, saying that the Bharat Bandh call by them on December 8 was successful. Despite the bandh call, the unions had not gone on strike on December 8 and they lent their moral support to the farmers agitation against three new farm bills. The ten central trade unions are Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS), Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC), Trade Union Co-ordination Centre (TUCC), Self-Employed Women s Association (SEWA), All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU), Labour Progressive Federation (LPF) and United Trade Union Congress (UTUC).
