The world s largest cargo plane left Belfast in Northern Ireland on Friday, carrying three 18-tonne oxygen generators and 1,000 ventilators as part of the UK s latest response to India s COVID-19 crisis, the British government said.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), which has funded to supplies, said airport staff worked through the night to load the life-saving kit aboard the massive Antonov 124 aircraft, which is expected to land in Delhi at 0800 IST on Sunday morning after which the Indian Red Cross will help transfer them to hospitals.
Each of the three oxygen generation units - the size of 40 foot freight containers - produces 500 litres of oxygen per minute, enough for 50 people to use at a time.

During the virtual meeting, both leaders also focussed on implementing the 2030 Roadmap. Just concluded the bilateral Foreign Ministers Meeting with British counterpart @DominicRaab. Focussed on our responsibility for implementing the 2030 Roadmap. Confident that we will see early progress on many fronts, Jaishankar wrote in a tweet.
In a subsequent tweet, Jaishankar wrote, Also explored our strategic convergences across regions. Discussed the Indo-Pacific, global health challenges and UN cooperation in some detail.

Earlier on Wednesday, Jaishankar assured British Prime Minister Boris Johnson that he and UK Foreign Secretary will take forward the 2030 Roadmap.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday (local time) held discussions with his French and Australian counterparts Jean-Yves Le Drian and Marise Payne, respectively and also discussed the Indo-Pacific strategic landscape. Substantive discussions with my colleagues FM @JY LeDrian and FM @MarisePayne at the first India-France-Australia Trilateral Ministerial Dialogue. Thanked them both for their strong support in meeting the Covid challenge, tweeted Jaishankar. Discussed the Indo-Pacific strategic landscape and agreed on the importance of enhancing our cooperation, added Jaishankar. These discussions took place at the first India-France-Australia Trilateral Ministerial Dialogue, held on the sidelines of the G7 Foreign Ministers Meeting.
