all they re doing is keeping their mouth shut. they know trump at the top of the ticket in 2020 will be a disaster. they want him gone then the party can get back to normal. that s a bunch of bull. if we don t challenge him now, it will never get back to normal. are they m outing him nout that you re doing this? maybe it s making them uncomfortable or maybe some of them just needed somebody to stick their neck out. have you been watching the president on this world stage during the g7 and your thoughts? he s trying to walk back everything he did on friday. alisyn, friday was a horrendous day. think about what trump did. the fed chair is as much of an enemy to this country as china. he s trying to walk all of that back because the markets tanked. he s erratic and again, he s tweeting us into a recession. that s going to that will help most americans be brave and
the party can go? just take health care as an example. democrats believe everybody in america deserves health care. it s a human right. we re having a big debate in the party about how to deliver on that right. i personally believe we should double down on obamacare, strengthen obamacare. i say that from the perspective of the only person in the race to get single payer health care. i wanted to see a public option that competed in a regulated market against private options that people would still be allowed to have. but of course there are some democrats who think everybody should be forced into a medicare for all plan formed in 1963. i don t think that s what most americans want. that s not what i was hearing out especially on the ground in middle america. do you fare there are some candidates pushing or pulling the party too far left? i think that s my point. this is how this debate is playing out.
you know, there are other great candidates in this as well. i don t think it s a good thing that it s become a three-way race early in the process. and i m no political pundit. but if you look at the polling, that s where we seem to be. you think he s the most electable, former vice president biden? i think the most important thing in this race right now is the best best to take on donald trump. i don t think we ve had a worst president in history. that s why it s important we do all we can to beat him. that includes choosing the strongest to take him on? is that j b biden? again, i m not going to make an endorsement right now. but i do think the vice president has shown the experience and the courage in taking him on. but also to do so in a way that united americans. i mean, to win this race, we have to build a very broad coalition. we can t leave any group out. but also includes independent
public safety crisis. since the 1970s the numbers of volunteer firefighters in the state has declined by 88%. the new report warns that other areas could face the similar problem. this comes as the border patrol struggles to recruit and now keep agents. how can we get the americans get americans to serve in their communities? our panel here to discuss it. former west chester county police sergeant steve cardian is here. welcome back. spokesperson for the firemen association of the state of new york. robert leonard is here and former ice supervisor jason piccolo. jason, first off. i know you are more border patrol, but in terms of fire department, what s going on? it s tough to get people to come out here and serve right now. especially you have these abolish ice movements, abolish police movements. it s just a tough situation to get people to volunteer. brian: what s changed? changes have been in economics and socioeconomic factors. two income families. husband and wife both work
ranking officials. it s hard also to take your eye off this congresswoman ilhan omar she has made a few comments where clearly she seems to have a problem with our pro-israeli position in america. and how why do i think that? because i read her tweets. steve: yeah, because she had to apologize for this. it was a tweet in response to journalist glen greenwald s tweet. republican leader kevin mccarthy threatened punishment for her and rashida tlaib over criticism of israel. stunning how much time u.s. political leaders spend defend ago foreign nation even if it means attacking free speech rights of americans. then she tweeted it s all about the benjamins, baby. she has since walked that back and apologized to a point here is the president and what he said about her yesterday. ainsley: he said i think she should be ashamed of
