The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) is implementing the project in two phases. While phase 2A covers Central Silk Board Junction to K.R. Puram, the phase 2B runs from K.R. Puram to Airport via Hebbal Junction. The two phases cover a length of 58.19 km.

The Union Cabinet on Tuesday cleared Bangalore Metro Rail s ambitious Silk Board to international airport line project, which is estimated to cost about Rs 14,788 crore.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) is implementing the project in two phases. While phase 2A covers Central Silk Board Junction to K.R. Puram, the phase 2B runs from K.R. Puram to Airport via Hebbal Junction. The two phases cover a length of 58.19 km.

New Delhi [India], March 4 (ANI): Bengaluru topped in the rankings of the Ease of Living Index (EoLI) 2020 and Indore topped in the Municipal Performance Index (MPI) 2020 in million+ population category, announced Union Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday.
In less than a million population category, Shimla topped in EoLI 2020 and North Delhi Municipal corporation topped in MPI 2020.
Speaking at the event, Puri said, Smart cities project is one of the fastest implemented projects anywhere in the world and yet there is some kind of perception deficit.

Bengaluru, Jan 15: In a recent development, the new 6.3 km extended stretch of metro rail in Bengaluru s southern suburbs on Friday commenced its service for the public. Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa flagged off the train on the north-south corridor (green line) on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
According to Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL), the metro train which will start from Yelachanahalli has 5 stations on its way to the destination station Anjanapura. These stations are Konanakunte Cross, Doddakallasandra, Vajrahalli, Thalaghattapura, and Silk Institute on the green line.
The southern suburbs of Bengaluru have seen vast commercial and residential development over the past few years. Therefore, like many other parts of the city, the area is also infamous for its traffic jams.
