Budget may draw roadmap for one lakh workers of J&K

JAMMU, Mar 1: The Jammu and Kashmir is set to get good news on employment front in the upcoming budget of the Union Territory which will be tabled in the Parliament in budget session which is resuming on March 8 as the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sought lists of nearly one lakh workers engaged by the previous Governments during past over two decades who couldn’t be regularized despite budgetary provision by former Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu.

JAMMU, Feb 24: In a major boost to industrial development in Jammu and Kashmir, the Government has signed 450 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 23,000 crore for investments in the Union Territory including 70 who are immediately prepared to launch their units once the Industrial Development Policy sets off from April 1 even as the Government has decided to announce its own component of the Policy within a fortnight in which concerns of existing local units will also be addressed.

JAMMU, Feb 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly said today that after becoming single largest party in the District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP will take all sections of society along and ensure that development is taken to new heights in the Union Territory as per ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas’ slogan of the Central Government.
He was addressing the Central office bearers as well as State/UT presidents and general secretaries (organizations) of the BJP in New Delhi. BJP president Ravinder Raina, national secretary from J&K Narinder Singh and general secretary (organizations) Ashok Koul attended the meeting.

JAMMU, Feb 10: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said today that large numbers of investors are knocking the doors of Jammu and Kashmir for investments following approval of Industrial Policy and there could be huge crowd of investors after April for which the Land Policy has been drafted and approved by the Administrative Council.
In a brief media-interaction at Raj Bhawan this afternoon, Sinha, responding to a question, said many investors have been knocking the doors of Jammu and Kashmir after announcement of the Industrial Policy.
