Botswana has an elephant problem there are simply too many of them. That is why, when Germany proposed to enact stricter limits on import of hunted trophies, Botswana’s president clapped back.
The resolution, moved by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, was passed unanimously. To change the name of a state, approval from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs is required.
After capture, the pachyderm will be fitted with a GPS collar to track its movements and relocated to another forest region, as per a Kerala High Court directive.
