In recent months, approximately 40 medical colleges across India have lost their recognition due to alleged non-compliance with the standards set by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The colleges were not following the criteria, including proper camera installation and their functioning. Biometric facility was not working properly. Many posts in the faculties were also found vacant during the inspection.
Around 150 medical colleges of the country are likely to lose recognition of the National Medical Commission the regulatory body for country's medical education and medical professionals for inadequate faculty and non-compliance of rules.

The National Medical Commission National Exit Test Regulations, 2022, will be known as such and go into effect on the day they are published in the official gazette.
