Buffalo City Metro is gearing up for a weekend of hosting creative legends, Grammy winners, gospel stars, authors and activities at Sm(art) City Fest, which opened on Friday at the Guild Theatre. In celebration of Buffalo City's designation as a Unesco Creative City, presented by Urban-Rural Creative Lab NPC, and funded by the Eastern Cape department of sports, recreation arts & culture's community festival development programme, the two-day event opens with Grammy-winning talent Ndumiso Man.
Mystery has surrounded the sudden death of Umhlobo Wenene FM producer Lusizo Canda this week, the family said on Saturday. Canda vomited shortly before his death. The 36-year-old produced the station's popular show, Breakfast Eyondlayo Ekuseni (BEE). Lusizo and his mother Lungiswa were about to prepare their evening meal at their Gqeberha home when the tragedy struck on Thursday night.
