Buffalo City Metro is gearing up for a weekend of hosting creative legends, Grammy winners, gospel stars, authors and activities at Sm(art) City Fest, which opened on Friday at the Guild Theatre. In celebration of Buffalo City's designation as a Unesco Creative City, presented by Urban-Rural Creative Lab NPC, and funded by the Eastern Cape department of sports, recreation arts & culture's community festival development programme, the two-day event opens with Grammy-winning talent Ndumiso Man.
Wearing tuxedos and evening dresses and sipping hot soup, art lovers celebrated the official opening of the Umtiza Arts Festival at East London’s Guild Theatre on Tuesday evening.
The home-grown Umtiza Arts Festival is bringing together art lovers and artists from across the province from May 25 to 29, showcasing extraordinary works which reflect the paradigm shift of the artistic landscape not only in SA but the world.
