Infection rates for both COVID-19 and monkeypox (MPV) are trending down, but Washington Department of Health (DOH) officials urge further vaccination uptake as the cold and flu season draws near. They discussed both viruses during a media briefing on Thursday.
On Thursday during a media briefing, state health officials said the public should still be mindful of COVID-19 and cautious of other respiratory viruses emerging throughout the state that could challenge hospitals in a way that hasn’t been seen before.
While Gov. Jay Inslee announced that all COVID-19 emergency orders will end by Oct. 31st, Washington health care leaders will continue to prioritize virus response and recovery.
