UI Campus Safety phone services restored

Check back for updates.  University of Iowa Campus Safety restored its phone services at approximately 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning after the non-emergency phone line went out on Wednesday afternoon.  The UI Office of Campus Safety announced in an email to students at around 4 p.m. Wednesday that it was unable.

Attempted murder suspect, former UI student Ali Younes flees to Jordan

Former University of Iowa student and attempted murder suspect Ali Younes has fled the U.S.,  the Johnson County Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday. The attorney’s office released Tuesday that Younes fled to Jordan on May 6 using Jordanian travel documents to board a Royal Jordanian Airlines flight at O’Hare airport in Chicago, according to a press.

Law enforcement searching for attempted murder suspect, former UI student Ali Younes

This is a developing report. Check back for updates. The FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and Iowa City area law enforcement are looking for former University of Iowa student and attempted murder suspect Ali Younes after he cut off his ankle monitor, according to a press release Saturday.  While awaiting trial, the 19-year-old was placed.
