Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is the leader of the Congress Party in Lok Sabha, a member of the Congress Working Committee, president of the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee, and chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.
Khadgata appealed to the Ulama (religious scholars) Thursday to encourage people to perform the Friday prayer at their homes and inspire those around them to do the same.
Ramachandran said 37 FIRs have been registered so far, and 79 people arrested in the district, following the violence in Nuh. Police have detained 95 people, out of which 80 were released on bail.
A police spokesperson, when asked about this, said documents verifying the age of the accused should be submitted before the police, after which they will verify and submit them to court. “If he is a juvenile, action would be taken accordingly,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nuh Deputy Commissioner Prashant Panwar and Superintendent of Police Varun Singla were transferred, an official order said. Singla, who was on leave when the clashes broke out, has been replaced with Narendra Bijarniya.
