State Police are currently on scene of a fatal crash along I-10 near Duson.
Troopers tell KATC there is one confirmed fatality. No other details were provided. Video provided to KATC shows a vehicle overturned on its side in the roadway at around 5:40 pm on Tuesday.
A lane of traffic was open on I-10 and troopers say the scene of the crash should be clear soon. DOTD reports as of 8 p.m. that congestion on I-10 East from Mile Marker 97 (Scott) to Mile Marker 99 has now cleared.

DUSON, La. - Deputies responded Wednesday morning to a call of a vehicle submerged in a coulee.
The incident happened in the 100 block of Hunters Hill in Duson at 6:00 a.m. on May 12, 2021.
Upon arrival, a woman indicated she drove into high water and her vehicle was swept into the coulee, according to a spokesperson for the Lafayette Parish Sheriff s Office. The driver was the only occupant and was able to escape before the vehicle became submerged.

An Opelousas man is hospitalized with serious injuries following an attempted theft that led to a high-speed chase through Lafayette Parish on Saturday.
According to Duson Police Chief Kip Judice, police responded around 10:15 Saturday morning to reports of money stolen from a register till at a casino in the 200 block of Austria Road. Police were told that while an employee at the casino was busy with other customers, an individual reached over the counter and took $1,300 from the register.
