This comes amid the ongoing tussle between the two officers, and a few weeks after it was first reported that Rai, former Delhi Jal Board (DJB) chief, had allegedly razed down a heritage structure to build his new official residence.
Rai has alleged he neither received the notice nor a reminder, and demanded that a “neutral” secretary-level officer be appointed to probe the case against him. He has filed four complaints to the L-G, Chief Minister and Chief Secretary on the matter.
On Wednesday, The Indian Express had reported about show-cause notice to Rai, a 2007 batch IAS (AGMUT cadre) officer, for allegedly demolishing a “Pathan period” Mahal dating back to 1418 and for building a government accommodation in its place to move in as the then DJB CEO.
