Accused in police custody Surat: Prevention of crime branch team has busted a fake hand sanitizer manufacturing and distribution racket operating from a farm in Mota Varachha. The accused were making the liquid using methyl alcohol which can prove dangerous to the lives of people, police said. Police recovered valuables worth Rs 7.93 lakh and arrested Jigar Bhalala (27) and Naresh Dabhi (39) from Rangwadi farm in Mota Varachha. They resorted to this unscupulous business to earn quick money. Nearly 1,200 litres methyl alcohol, 900 litre fake sanitizer, 1,300 containers and other material was seized. “This is a big success for the city police as use of methyl alcohol is dangerous,” said city police commissioner Ajay Tomar.
