Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Anambra gubernatorial screening committee, Capt. Idris Wada has pledged his committee’s readiness to do a thorough job devoid of loopholes that may cause problems for its candidate in the future.
Wada stated this while responding to a question on how to avoid the fate that befell David Lyon, the All Progressives Congress, APC, governor-elect in Bayelsa state whose election was annulled owing to controversy in the documentation of his running mate, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo.
Briefing journalists at the ongoing exercise, Tuesday, Wada praised the Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee, NWC, for what he called the innovations brought to bear to guide the committee in the discharge of its functions.

Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Chairman of the party in the South-West and former governor of Ekiti State, Eddy Olafeso and Ayodele Fayose respectively, met in Lagos on Tuesday to discuss the way forward for the party.
SaharaReporters learnt that the meeting was centred on how to outsmart the governor of Oyo State and the lawmaker representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, who have positioned themselves as the leaders of the party.

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has received approval from the party’s National Executive Committee to begin the registration/ revalidation of members of the party.
Sunday PUNCH gathered in Abuja, on Friday, that sequel to the approval, the Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee is putting finishing touches to the logistics required for the exercise which party insiders said would hold “on or before April, 2021.”
A member of the party’s NEC, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the media on the issue, said, “We are aware that similar exercises in the past generated a lot of interest and a lot of people were disenfranchised.
