The recent judgment of the Supreme Court in Gurwinder Singh vs. State of Punjab[1] holds the view that jail is the rule and bail is the exception , in the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
While denying bail to a man charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 ("UAPA") for allegedly promoting Khalistani terror movement, the Supreme Court on Wednesday (February 7) held.
Sultan, a journalist with a now-closed monthly news magazine, was arrested in a case under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA in 2018. After bail in that case last year, he was booked under PSA.
