All activities are canceled throughout the weekend, but classes are set to resume on monday. 12 people were killed you including the gunman. We expect that the medical examiner will release the name of the shooter sometime later today. Again, if you will not hear anyone from this Law Enforcement operation use his name. I continue to believe that those media and Community Members who publicize his name will only glor faechl his horrific glorify his horrific actions. It happened during the first week of classes. The students include a number of military veterans and several are called heros for leading their fellow students to safety when they heard gunfire. Students in the classroom next door to the shooting say their teacher went to see what had happened. She knocks on it and said hey, is everyone okay in there . And as soon as she said that it was rapid fire over and over and over again. You could hear the people, you u could hear them moving and crying. Westbound 580 is better than it normally is. And 680 is actually a lot lightener dublin down to fremont as we look at the south bay you can see there is slow traffic here and there. 101, 280, and 85. 280 is not too bad. And the remarkable thing about this space is its really a living, breathing artifact. It hasnt changed at all since president johnson died in january 1973. Theres a document in the corner of this room signed among others, the the then archivist of the United States and Lady Bird Johnson telling my predecessors, myself and my successors that nothing in this room can change. So were here at the 100 block of congress avenue in austin. To my left just down the block is the river, the colorado river. And this is an important Historic Site in the citys history because this is where waterloo, austins predecessor, was.
