Tyler Merren has been to 18 countries to compete as an athlete for the United States. Growing up, Tyler had no idea he'd be afforded such an opportunity given his genetic condition. Limited vision from a degenerative disease left him struggling in his preferred traditional sport of basketball as a teenager. At 15 years old, a trip to a sports education camp for visually impaired youth students at Western Michigan University changed Tyler's life forever.
