COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Arkansas scored 22 points in the 10,000m final to close out the first day of the SEC Championships held at E.B. Cushing Stadium on the Texas A&M campus. Those points have the Razorbacks in the team lead over Alabama and LSU, who each scored 20 points on Thursday.
Gilbert Boit repeated as a silver medalist in the 10,000m as he ran 29:10.98 to finish behind the 28:55.56 by Alabama’s Vincent Kiprop. Razorback Luke Meade secured the bronze medal with a career best time of 29:22.40 while Matt Young, who closed with a last lap of 59.36, repeated his fourth-place finish from 2019 with a 29:31.97.

BATON ROUGE, La. – Four victories, three runner-up marks and a trio of third-place finishes highlighted No. 12 Arkansas’ performance at the LSU Invitational held Saturday inside Bernie Moore Stadium.
The 110m hurdles featured a match-up of LSU versus Arkansas with 0.003 of a second separating the top two finishers while 0.09 of a second separated first through fifth place. LSU’s Eric Edwards had the edge at the finish line over Razorback Tre’Bien Gilbert, with both producing a time of 13.61 (-0.3 wind). The difference to decide the winner was 13.605 to 13.608.
Phillip Lemonious, making his Razorback outdoor debut in the 110m hurdles, finished third in 13.62 ahead of a 13.68 for LSU’s Damion Thomas while another Arkansas hurdler, Carl Elliott, III, ran 13.70 in fifth.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Competing in front of home fans for the first time this season, the Razorbacks had solid performances for the 867 in attendance on the first day of the John McDonnell Invitational.
Nick Hilson supplied a victory in the 400m hurdles, posting a season best time of 50.75 seconds as Cody Johnson of Kansas finished second in 51.46. Hilson sports a career best of 49.92 from 2019 that ranks fourth on the UA all-time list.
The leader through the first day of the decathlon is Daniel Spejcher with a career best score of 4,028 points. Teammate Markus Ballengee is currently in second place at 3,919 while Tyler Brendel is in fifth place with 3,671 points.
