you love goats, don t you? i do. we caught up with duchovny in park city to talk about his character and his unique look for the role. david, it s your first sun dance, and you re a goat man. what is that all about? the script is based on a novel called goats which is kind of a coming of age story set in the southwest, i guess. and the main character is this boy played by graham phillips who s about 16 years old, and he s been raised by his kind of wacky new age mother. and i m goat man. i live on the property. i herd and trek with goats. i smoke pot. and i m not his father, but i m the only father figure that he has. his real father is back east, played by ty burrell. and he s more of an establishment guy. so graham ellis is going back east to go to school. he s leaving us behind. and he s got to grow up. and he s kind of got to leave us behind while he embraces an adult life. and i m, you know, the mentor that he has to outgrow, goat man.
